Chris Paul slams Los Angeles Clippers over disrespectful exit
NBA veteran Chris Paul has criticized the Los Angeles Clippers for the manner in which his tenure with the team ended, describing the experience as ‘one of the most disrespectful things that I’ve endured.’
Speaking on the ‘Build or Break’ podcast, the 41-year-old guard detailed a difficult final season intended to be a homecoming and a dignified retirement with the franchise where he previously led the ‘Lob City’ era. Instead, Paul faced internal friction, including reported tensions with head coach Tyronn Lue. After appearing in only 16 games during the 2025-26 season, the Clippers removed him from active rotation and eventually traded him to the Toronto Raptors in a move described as financially motivated.
Paul noted that the situation deeply affected his family, who were closely aware of the daily operations within the organization. He expressed bitterness over the lack of regard for his long-term investment and contributions to the team, stating, ‘It lets you know that, no matter what you do or what you’ve done, nobody cares.’ Following his brief stint with the Raptors, Paul announced his retirement from professional basketball.
