Chris Pratt confirms Star-Lord will return to the MCU
Actor Chris Pratt has officially confirmed that his character, Peter Quill (Star-Lord), will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Speaking on The Playlist’s ‘Bingeworthy’ podcast, Pratt stated that he maintains an excellent relationship with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and co-president Louis D’Esposito.
Pratt revealed that there are ongoing conversations regarding the character's return and that “hard action” has already been taken to ensure the promise made at the end of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ is fulfilled. While he declined to specify which project or when the character will reappear, he emphasized that Star-Lord is “not going anywhere.”
This confirmation follows previous comments from Pratt, who mentioned having a clear vision for the character's future and having pitched ideas to the studio. Although Star-Lord was not listed in the initial cast for upcoming films like ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, the actor's comments suggest his return is actively being planned.
