Chris Ramos ruled out for season with ACL injury
Real Oviedo striker Chris Ramos has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2026-27 season following a severe knee injury. Medical tests confirmed a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee.
The injury occurred during the Asturian derby against Sporting de Gijón on Sunday, September 27. Ramos had just scored his first goal for the club in the ninth minute of the match when he felt intense pain in his knee and had to be substituted.
Expected recovery time for this type of injury typically ranges between nine and twelve months, effectively ending his current campaign. Ramos, who joined Oviedo on loan from Botafogo, had become a key figure in the team's efforts to secure promotion to the Primera División.
