Comedian Chris Rock has revealed he was diagnosed with a nonverbal learning disorder (NVLD) as an adult. Following extensive cognitive testing, Rock described the condition as affecting his spatial processing and his ability to interpret nonverbal social cues.

Rock noted that while his literal interpretation of language serves as an asset for joke writing, it has created challenges in his personal relationships. He shared that he previously attributed interpersonal friction to his celebrity status, but therapy has helped him realize the role the disorder played in his social interactions. He has since committed to an intensive weekly therapy schedule.

In related comments regarding his career, Rock addressed the 2022 Oscars incident involving Will Smith, stating, “I wish nothing would have happened,” but downplayed the event's significance in the broader context of global issues. He also expressed uncertainty about hosting the Oscars again, suggesting his time in that role may have passed unless he is a nominee.
