Chris Van Hollen considers potential 2028 presidential run

Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) stated during an interview on NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ that he is ‘kicking the tires’ regarding a potential presidential run in 2028. Van Hollen indicated that he has been testing the waters by visiting early nominating states such as New Hampshire and Iowa.

Van Hollen argued that the Democratic Party needs to provide a clearer alternative to the Trump administration and move away from the status quo. He emphasized the need for the party to define what it stands for, specifically regarding an economy that works for all citizens, particularly working people. When questioned about his interest in leadership roles within the Senate, he clarified that his primary focus is on the direction of the Democratic Party heading into 2028.
