Chris Waddle advises Tottenham against re-signing Troy Parrott

Former Tottenham Hotspur player Chris Waddle has advised the club against re-signing striker Troy Parrott, despite growing interest and the player's rising profile. Parrott, a Republic of Ireland international, left Tottenham in 2024 and has since seen significant development following a prolific spell at AZ Alkmaar.

After moving to Real Betis for approximately £17.1 million, Parrott has already begun making an impact in La Liga, including scoring a winning goal against Real Madrid. While Tottenham supporters have discussed a potential return for the academy graduate, Real Betis holds a strong position with the player contracted until 2031 and a reported €100 million release clause.

Waddle argued that paying a high fee—estimated at around €80 million—for a player previously sold by the club for a fraction of that amount would be illogical. He noted that while Tottenham produces talent, the club often prioritizes established centre-forwards to meet Champions League expectations.
