Chris Waller prepares five runners for Golden Rose Stakes

Trainer Chris Waller is preparing five runners for the $1 million Golden Rose Stakes at Rosehill. While betting markets currently favor St Gotthard at $4.50, Waller stated that there is little separating his quintet of contenders, which includes Tron Bolt, Central Europe, Stormy Marco, and Campione D’Italia.

St Gotthard recently suffered his first defeat, finishing a close second to Warwoven in the Run To The Rose. Meanwhile, Guest House is the betting favorite at $2.80 to attempt the Golden Slipper-Golden Rose double.

In other stable news, Waller confirmed that Fireball has been sent for a spell after failing to fully recover from a virus. Similarly, Sing Your Song was scratched from the Tea Rose Stakes due to viral issues, though she is expected to target the Reginald Allen Quality later in the spring.
