Chris Williams, Kud‑Sverchkov and Mikaev Return to Earth on Soyuz MS‑28

NASA astronaut Chris Williams and Russian cosmonauts Sergey Kud‑Sverchkov and Sergei Mikaev undocked from the International Space Station aboard Soyuz MS‑28, marking the transition from Expedition 74 to Expedition 75. The crew closed hatches on 30 July, performed de‑orbit burns and landed on the Kazakh steppe near Dzhezkazgan at 06:26 EDT, where they were recovered and taken by helicopter to Karaganda.

The eight‑month mission, which began with a launch from Baikonur on 27 Nov 2025, gave the three spaceflies a total of 241 days in space, 3,856 orbits and more than 102 million miles traveled. After landing, Williams will return to NASA’s Johnson Space Center, while Kud‑Sverchkov and Mikaev will head back to training facilities in Star City, Russia.
