Chris Windom wins first World of Outlaws race at Night Before the Ironman
Chris Windom secured his first career World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series victory during the Night Before the Ironman event at I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park. Driving the Sides Motorsports/NOS Energy Drink No. 7S, Windom managed to navigate heavy traffic on a wet, challenging track surface to hold off a late charge from competitors.
Windom, a USAC Triple Crown champion, becomes only the second driver in history to hold both the Triple Crown title and a World of Outlaws win, joining Tony Stewart. The win marked Windom's 114th career Feature start and was the first score for owner Jason Sides since 2016.
Michael “Buddy” Kofoid finished in second place after a last-lap slide job, while Kelby Watt secured third, marking his first career podium with the series. David Gravel and Sheldon Haudenschild rounded out the top five.
