Chris Young released debut country album in 2006

Country music singer Chris Young released his self-titled debut album on October 3, 2006. At the age of 21, Young entered the national music scene following his victory on Season 4 of the singing competition 'Nashville Star'.

Produced by Buddy Cannon, the album reached number 3 on the Billboard country albums chart and number 22 on the all-genre Billboard 200. While the singles 'Drinkin' Me Lonely' and 'You're Gonna Love Me' saw moderate success on country radio, the album's performance helped earn Young a nomination for Top New Male Vocalist at the 2007 ACM Awards.
