Christian Anderson set for NBA debut with Charlotte Hornets

Christian Anderson Jr., the 18th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, is prepared to make his official NBA debut for the Charlotte Hornets. The former Texas Tech standout is scheduled to play against the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center.

During his sophomore season at Texas Tech, Anderson earned All-America and All-Big 12 honors, averaging 18.5 points and 7.4 assists per game. He set program records with 244 total assists and established himself as a high-volume three-point shooter, making 108 shots from beyond the arc at a 41.5% success rate.

Anderson, whose father played professional basketball in Germany, recently showcased his shooting ability during preseason play despite a training camp ankle injury. He noted that his preparation and familiarity with ball-screen operations are central to his game.
