Christian B. faces new criminal charges in Kiel
Christian B., the primary suspect in the 2007 disappearance and suspected murder of Madeleine McCann, is facing new criminal charges in Kiel, Germany. Following his release from prison a year ago, the repeat sexual offender is reportedly evading constant police surveillance.
Authorities are investigating him in approximately half a dozen cases. Indictments have been filed in four instances involving coercion and physical attacks on law enforcement officers. Reports indicate that B. has frequently evaded patrol cars by turning into narrow alleys, forcing officers to rely on his electronic ankle monitor to track his location.
Additional incidents include an encounter in November 2025 where B. allegedly resisted police while riding a bicycle under the influence of alcohol, resulting in an injury to an officer, and a separate incident in January where he reportedly became violent after refusing to hand over a mobile phone to police.
