Christian Bale opens $22M foster care village in California

Actor Christian Bale has launched Together California, a family foster village located in Palmdale, north of Los Angeles. The project, which took approximately 18 years to develop, raised $22 million for its construction.

The complex is designed to house up to 72 children and their caregivers. Moving away from traditional foster care models, the village allows adoptive parents and their children to move into the community together. The site features six sets of semi-detached houses, each with five bedrooms to accommodate large groups of siblings, a central courtyard, a playground, and a community center for social services.

Additionally, the facility includes two compact apartments intended for young adults transitioning out of the foster system to live independently, as well as spaces for biological parents undergoing the reunification process.
