Christian communities in Nicaragua commemorate Bible translation anniversary

Christian denominations in the North Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua held commemorations to mark 457 years since the translation of the Bible into Spanish. In Bilwi, participants from various congregations held a procession starting from the Miskito Central Moravian Church, ending at Rubén Darío Municipal Park for a service featuring prayer and reflection.

Bishop Gustavo Zabala of the Church of God highlighted the importance of delivering biblical messages to diverse communities. Additionally, Miguel Abella, the mayor of Puerto Cabezas, noted how translations into different languages and cultural realities facilitate community access to the text. The celebrations also emphasized the availability of the Scriptures in the Miskitu language and included activities in Waspam.
