Christian Democrats in Kramfors revise Pride criticism

The Christian Democrats (KD) in Kramfors have revised their stance following criticism regarding their comments on Pride. In a political compass for SVT, the local branch had criticized the influence of RFSL and suggested that the Pride flag could marginalize those who do not follow a “promiscuous lifestyle.”

Following pushback from the party's district leadership, the wording was changed. The local chapter remains divided; while national leader Ebba Busch has participated in Pride to support an inclusive Sweden, Kramfors KD chair Anna Larsson expressed criticism toward RFSL, describing their educational materials as “pure propaganda” and emphasizing the importance of children being allowed to be children.

Local party members, including political ombudsman Jennifer Törnros, have noted that they personally participated in Pride parades, highlighting internal tensions within the local branch regarding LGBTQ+ issues.
