Christian Deutsch criticizes ÖVP over Vienna economic policy

Christian Deutsch, Chairman of the Finance Committee in the Vienna City Council, has criticized the Vienna ÖVP for what he describes as budget incompetence and a lack of understanding regarding economic policy.

Deutsch highlighted that Vienna's economy, which generates approximately 130 billion euros in economic output—more than a quarter of Austria's total—and a record high of 945,000 employees, is the result of consistent location policy rather than coincidence. He argued that the city's economic strength provides the necessary room for fiscal consolidation and essential future investments in infrastructure, education, and health.
