Christian Dior's Granville Childhood Home Launches New Exhibition
The Villa Les Rhumbs in Granville, Normandy – Christian Dior’s birthplace and now a museum – is showcasing the "Memories of a Childhood" exhibition. Curated by longtime director Brigitte Richart, the show highlights the pastel pink and mist‑grey palettes that inspired Dior’s designs and features tote bags by current creative director Jonathan Anderson that echo those colours.
The exhibition also underscores Dior Joaillerie’s archival collections, tracing the influence of the villa’s compass‑rose motif on jewellery lines such as the Rose des Vents (2015), Rose Céleste (2018) and the 2024 Etoile des Vents collection, all created under creative director Victoire de Castellane. The museum, three hours from Paris on the English Channel, continues to serve as a source of inspiration for the fashion house’s collections and its luxury jewellery arm.
