Christian Garcia retires as Monaco Prince’s Palace head chef
Christian Garcia, the head chef at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco, is retiring on August 31 after nearly 40 years of service. Garcia originally joined the palace in 1987 for a temporary seven-month position after being hired from the Hôtel de Paris.
During his tenure, he served under both the late Prince Rainier III and Prince Albert II, preparing meals for various world leaders including Queen Elizabeth II, Nelson Mandela, and Barack Obama. Beyond his culinary duties, Garcia has been active in mentoring local hospitality students and participating in international humanitarian efforts.
Since 2007, Garcia has also served as the president of the Club des Chefs des Chefs, an exclusive organization comprising the personal chefs of global leaders.
