Christian Hafenecker re-elected as FPÖ Lilienfeld district chairman
Christian Hafenecker has been re-elected as the district party chairman of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) in Lilienfeld for the eighth time. The announcement was made on Thursday evening in St. Veit an der Gölsen.
Hafenecker, who has held the position since August 2005, cited recent electoral successes in the district as momentum for the party. He noted significant increases in support during the 2023 state election, the 2024 national council election, and the 2025 municipal elections, where the party grew from nine to 22 municipal council seats.
During his speech, Hafenecker criticized the current federal government and opposing parties, including the SPÖ, ÖVP, and NEOS. He stated that the FPÖ aims to become the strongest political force in both the district and the state ahead of the 2028 state elections.
