Christian Lell discusses impact of sister's death

Former professional footballer Christian Lell has opened up about how the death of his younger sister, Marie-Therese, profoundly altered his life. Marie-Therese passed away in April 2014 at the age of 27 after battling cystic fibrosis, a hereditary metabolic disease.

Lell, a former player for FC Bayern Munich, stated that the loss caused his life to change abruptly. Following her death, he stepped away from professional football and faced various personal challenges, including substance abuse, legal issues, and financial difficulties.

In response to his sister's illness, Lell and his family co-founded a foundation for cystic fibrosis in 2008. He has since transitioned from professional sports to working as an entrepreneur, coach, and speaker. Lell is set to appear in the upcoming season of the reality television show ‘Promi Big Brother’ starting in October.
