Christian McCaffrey battled cramps during 49ers victory over Rams

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed that running back Christian McCaffrey dealt with cramping during the team's season opener against the Los Angeles Rams in Australia. The 49ers secured a 27-7 victory, with McCaffrey recording 68 rushing yards on 10 carries and 20 receiving yards.

Due to the ailment, rookie Kaelon Black took on a larger workload, rushing for 65 yards on 14 carries. Shanahan noted that the team's strategy included balancing carries between McCaffrey, Black, and Deebo Samuel to manage workloads.

Away from the field, McCaffrey's wife, Olivia Culpo, shared updates regarding her pregnancy with the couple's second child. She noted the difficulty of managing their daughter alone while the team traveled to Melbourne to acclimate to the time difference for the game.
