Christian McCaffrey misses 49ers practice with tightness

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey missed practice on Monday due to what the team described as general tightness. Offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak stated that the 30-year-old is “doing fine” and that the team is actively managing his workload and rep count to prepare him for the season opener.

The 49ers are currently facing depth issues at the running back position, as the three primary projected backups—Kaelon Black, Jordan James, and Isaac Guerendo—are all sidelined with various injuries. During Monday's session, Patrick Taylor Jr., Sincere McCormick, and Khalil Herbert took on the majority of the workload.

Additionally, defensive end Nick Bosa missed his fourth consecutive practice due to soreness as he continues his recovery following a season-ending ACL injury last year.
