Christian Men‑Only Gyms Open in Oklahoma City and Denver

Two faith‑based fitness centers that exclude women have opened or are set to open in the United States. Proverbs 27:17 Fitness, founded by Jeff Hambrecht, operates in Oklahoma City, while the Youth Group for Men and Remnant Gym, founded by Mitch Parsons, plans to launch in Denver. Both founders say the spaces allow Christian men to avoid what they describe as “lust‑inducing” environments and focus on physical and spiritual development.

The concept has drawn widespread criticism online, with commentators comparing the gyms to misogynistic “manosphere” groups and accusing them of promoting gender discrimination. Hambrecht disclosed a personal history of homelessness, addiction and pornography use, while Parsons said he quit four previous gyms to create a space that aligns with his religious values and marital commitments.
