Christian Nègre investigation delayed until 2027

The Paris Prosecutor's Office has announced that investigations into the case of former high-ranking official Christian Nègre are now expected to conclude in 2027, a delay from the previously anticipated end of 2026.

Nègre, a former HR director for the French Ministry of Culture, is accused of using chemical submission to drug approximately 250 women. To date, 191 victims have filed as civil parties in the case. He faces charges including the administration of harmful substances, violence by a person in a public service role, sexual assault, and violations of privacy occurring between 2009 and 2023.

Civil parties expressed disappointment following a recent meeting with instructing judges. While some victims noted progress in the investigation, others criticized a lack of transparency regarding the judicial process and the absence of a definitive trial date.
