Everton to sign Arsenal midfielder Christian Norgaard for £7m
Everton have reached an agreement in principle to sign 32‑year‑old Danish midfielder Christian Norgaard from Arsenal for a fee in the region of £7 million. The deal, reported by several outlets, requires Norgaard to undergo a medical next week before the transfer is completed, making him Everton’s fourth signing of the summer after Hayden Hackney, Tyrique George and Merlin Rohl.
Norgaard joined Arsenal last summer from Brentford for an initial £10 million plus add‑ons, but made only 20 appearances across all competitions and seven Premier League starts during Arsenal’s title‑winning campaign. He won a Premier League winners’ medal but saw limited playing time, prompting the move. The transfer provides Everton with a physical midfield option to replace the departing Idrissa Gueye, while Arsenal use the fee to fund other targets, notably a bid for Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimarães.
The agreement has been confirmed by journalists including David Ornstein and Paul Joyce, and the clubs expect the paperwork to be finalised shortly.
