Christian Revival Church Association expands farming in Margibi

The Christian Revival Church Association (CRCA) is expanding its agricultural operations in Jungle Farm, located in Lower Margibi County, Liberia. The initiative involves cultivating over ten acres of swampland for rice production, alongside established orange and pineapple plantations.

Spearheaded by Bishop T. Dennis Agery, the project aims to support President Joseph Boakai’s ARREST agenda, specifically focusing on food self-sufficiency and reducing Liberia’s dependence on imported rice. Farm Manager Ramsy M. Ballah reported that three and a half acres of rice have already been planted, with the first harvest expected in October.

The program is currently providing short-term employment for approximately ten local residents. The CRCA intends to expand its workforce, particularly targeting women and youth, provided additional support is secured from the government or donor organizations. To ensure year-round productivity, the church plans to transition to vegetable production in the swampland during the dry season following the rice harvest.
