Christian Rucavado resigns as Costa Rica MEIC Vice Minister

Christian Rucavado has resigned from his position as Vice Minister of Economy, Industry, and Commerce (MEIC) in Costa Rica after five months in the role. Minister María del Milagro Solórzano confirmed the departure, noting that Rucavado will transition to a new position as the Executive Director of the Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce.

Ricardo Carvajal Alpírez, who previously served as the director of the Small and Medium Enterprise area, will succeed Rucavado in the vice ministry. Rucavado’s tenure at MEIC follows a previous role as the executive president of the National Learning Institute (INA).

This resignation marks the sixth departure within the administration of Laura Fernández in just five months, following previous exits from the ministries of Labor, Education, Agriculture, and Foreign Affairs.
