Christian sanctuary in Ceuta vandalized

The Santuario de la Virgen del Rosario y Fray Leopoldo, a small Christian sanctuary in Ceuta, has been vandalized. A local woman discovered the damage while hiking in the mountains, reporting that religious items, including images and crucifixes, were destroyed and scattered. The surrounding area was also found covered in waste.

Local authorities responded by deploying municipal workers to clean the site and begin reconstruction. The Christian organization Hazte Oír has filed a formal report with the police, requesting the identification of those responsible and the preservation of evidence, such as surveillance footage.

Police are currently investigating the incident, though the perpetrators have not yet been identified. The vandalism follows a period of significant migration in the enclave, where approximately 80,000 people crossed from the Moroccan border in late July.
