Christian Schlag International Organ Festival concludes in Świdnica

The XI Christian Schlag International Organ Festival will conclude on October 9, 2026, with a final concert titled ‘Brass Glory’ at the Church of Peace in Świdnica. The event features a unique musical combination of a brass orchestra and organ performance.

The concert will include the Cathedral Brass of the National Brass Orchestra in Lubin, conducted by Tomasz Kaniewski, accompanied by organists Zuzanna and Maciej Bator. The repertoire spans from the Renaissance and Baroque periods to the 20th century, featuring composers such as Giovanni Gabrieli, Dieterich Buxtehude, Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Friedrich Händel, Tomaso Albinoni, Jan Koetsier, and Modest Mussorgsky.

A highlight of the program will be a dialogue between the altar organs and the historic Schlag & Söhne organs, as well as a performance of Modest Mussorgsky’s ‘The Great Gate of Kiev’ in an arrangement by Michał Olearczyk.
