Christian Springer reflects on career and 'Schlachthof' anniversary
In an interview marking the 30th anniversary of the cabaret program ‘Schlachthof’, comedian Christian Springer revealed that he nearly became the host of the BR program ‘quer’ instead.
Springer, who has co-hosted ‘Schlachthof’ with Michael Altinger since 2013, reached the final casting round for ‘quer’ alongside Christoph Süß. Springer stated he was relieved not to have received the position, noting that it allowed him to join the ‘Schlachthof’ team. He has been involved with the program since 1997, initially serving as an author.
‘Schlachthof’ originally launched in 1996 with Ottfried Fischer as host. Springer noted that a key requirement for his involvement was consulting with Fischer before taking on a hosting role.
