Christian Zimmermann outlines goals for second term in Steinau

Christian Zimmermann, the current Mayor of Steinau an der Straße, has outlined his objectives for a potential second term as he prepares for the upcoming election on September 27. His platform emphasizes solid financing through consolidation and the acquisition of subsidies, alongside the continued modernization and digitalization of administrative processes.

Zimmermann aims to expand industrial and commercial areas, such as IG West II, to maintain the town's economic attractiveness. He also plans to implement new residential and commercial zones in the city center and the district of Sarrod, with a specific focus on affordable, barrier-free social housing.

In the Sarrod district, significant infrastructure progress is underway. A fiber optic expansion project led by Breitband Main-Kinzig GmbH and Wunsch Bau has reached a 91 percent completion rate, with all buildings benefiting from the free installation. Technical connectivity is expected by early summer. Additionally, local leaders Bernd Schneider and Zimmermann highlighted recent community milestones, including the construction of a new fire station, playground expansions, and the ongoing renovation of a youth club.
