Christie's auction of World Cup relics raises funds for FIFA education program
Christie's New York announced an online auction running from July 22‑29 that will feature more than 20 lots of FIFA World Cup memorabilia. Items include the match ball used in the July 19 final at MetLife Stadium, the opening‑game ball from the tournament’s kickoff in Los Angeles, jerseys signed by Lionel Messi and members of the U.S. men’s national team, and the outfits worn by Shakira, Madonna, Justin Bieber, BTS and other halftime‑show performers, including Shakira’s see‑through costume from the official song video.
All proceeds will go to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million to expand quality education and sports opportunities for children in underserved communities worldwide. Opening bids start at $100 and the sale is open to bidders globally.
