Christie's Paris auction of Monet, Picasso and Renoir masterpieces

A collection of about 60 works by Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Pierre‑Auguste Renoir and other Impressionist and modern artists will be offered at Christie's in Paris. The pieces were gathered by French art dealer Paul Durand‑Ruel in the late 19th‑early 20th century and remained in the same family for more than a century. They will be exhibited in the "Generations of Vision" show from 16‑21 October before being auctioned on 22 October as part of the Art Basel international fair.

Christie's estimates the total value of the lot between €30.4 million and €43.4 million. Highlights include Monet’s 1882 canvas "At the Quarry near Pourville", valued at €11‑15 million, Renoir’s "Young Girls at the Sea", and a Picasso still‑life. The auction will bring together historic works that helped popularise Impressionism across Paris, London and New York.
