Christie’s to auction Paul Durand-Ruel family collection in Paris

Christie’s will auction 62 works from the Paul Durand-Ruel family trust during Paris Art Week, with total estimates ranging from €30 million to €43 million ($35 million to $50 million). The collection features significant pieces from Impressionist and modern masters, including Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro, Pablo Picasso, Eugène Boudin, and Alfred Sisley.

Key highlights include Monet’s ‘Bord des falaises à Pourville’ (1882), estimated at €11 million to €15 million, and Renoir’s ‘Jeunes filles au bord de la mer’ (1890-1894), estimated at €4 million to €6 million. Other notable works include a 1944 Picasso still life and several pieces by Pissarro and Sisley.

The auction honors Paul Durand-Ruel, the influential art dealer who provided critical financial support to the Impressionist movement. The works will be on public display at Christie’s Paris from October 16 through 22, with the main auction scheduled for October 22 and 23.
