Christina Applegate reveals 2021 multiple sclerosis diagnosis was incorrect

American actress Christina Applegate has revealed that her 2021 diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) was incorrect. During recent episodes of her podcast, MeSsy, co-hosted with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Applegate shared that medical testing suggested she does not have the disease.

Despite the corrected diagnosis, Applegate noted that her physical symptoms—including neurological issues and mobility difficulties requiring a wheelchair and cane—have persisted and, in some cases, worsened. She expressed significant emotional distress regarding the error, stating, “You don’t get misdiagnosed and then suddenly you feel better.”

Applegate described feeling a sense of loss and confusion, noting that she had spent years viewing herself as a public face for the MS community. She mentioned feeling as though she had let people down, though she is now undergoing new investigations to determine the actual cause of her ongoing health challenges.
