Christina Block kidnapping trial: Children recount New Year's Eve abduction

The ongoing trial of Christina Block, an heiress accused of orchestrating the kidnapping of her children to wrest them from their father's custody, has reached a stage where the children are speaking out. In a podcast series by Die Zeit, Klara and Theo Block, along with their father Stephan Hensel, describe the events of New Year's Eve 2023/24 in Gråsten, Denmark.

Klara, now nearly 16, recounted the terror of the night when masked men attacked her father and kidnapped the children. She described hearing her father's screams and witnessing the abduction of her brother, Theo. The children were reportedly taken to southern Germany before being reunited with their mother.

The case follows a bitter custody battle between Block and Hensel. While Block faces trial in Hamburg for allegedly commissioning the kidnapping, the children's testimonies provide a firsthand account of the violence and fear experienced during the incident.
