Christine Baranski and Richard E. Grant star in West End revival of Hay Fever

A new West End revival of Noël Coward’s 1924 comedy of manners, ‘Hay Fever’, has opened at Wyndham’s Theatre. The production stars Christine Baranski in her West End debut as retired actress Judith Bliss and Richard E. Grant as the delusional novelist David Bliss.

Directed by Emily Burns, the play explores the eccentricities of the Bliss family during a weekend in Cookham, Berkshire. The production is a limited engagement scheduled to run through December 12, 2026. Critics have noted the technical precision required for Coward’s dialogue, with Baranski receiving praise for her portrayal of the matriarch and Grant for his performance as the patriarch.
