Christine Taylor recounts traumatic 1990s carjacking

Actress Christine Taylor recently shared details regarding a traumatic carjacking she experienced in Los Angeles during the early 1990s. Speaking on the ‘We’re Still Here, Babe’ podcast, Taylor described the incident occurring in broad daylight around 3:00 PM near Detroit Street and Beverly Boulevard.

Taylor, who was living with then-roommate David Pressman at the time, stated that a vehicle slowed down as they were preparing to cross the street to their apartment. A passenger exited the vehicle with a firearm, ordering Pressman to remain on the curb and demanding the car keys. Taylor noted that the process was complicated by an anti-theft steering wheel club she had installed, which she was forced to remove before the thieves would depart. She described the experience as terrifying, noting that while the event lasted only a few minutes, it felt as though time stood still.
