Christmas decorations planned in Bari while Macerata stores lights in storage

In Bari, the municipal administration has scheduled the installation of Christmas decorations, including light trees, origami reindeer, and luminous columns. The lighting, which is expected to be turned on by mid-November, is being implemented through a biennial framework agreement for city events and includes public-private partnerships to enhance urban visibility. All installations will utilize low-impact LED technology.

In contrast, the municipality of Macerata is facing criticism over approximately 50,000 euros worth of Christmas decorations currently held in storage. This includes light displays featuring verses from ‘L'Infinito’ and butterfly decorations. Although the lights have been repaired, Mayor Emanuele Pepa has stated he does not intend to reinstall them in their previous locations, seeking to avoid a mere ‘copy and paste’ approach and instead looking for ways to integrate them into different urban contexts or local landmarks.
