Christmas festivities scheduled in Panettieri and Palermo

Various holiday celebrations are being organized across Sicily. In Panettieri, the 21st edition of the 'Presepe Vivente' (Living Nativity) will take place, transforming the village into a historical setting to depict Nativity traditions. This year’s theme, ‘Cura del creato’ (Care for Creation), focuses on environmental respect and the value of life. The event is scheduled for December 25, 26, and 27, 2026, as well as January 1, 2, 3, and 6, 2027.

In Palermo, the Christmas Fair at Piazzale Giotto is set to begin on October 24 and run through December 27, 2026. The event features a large exhibition space including over 7,000 square meters of outdoor area and a 1,600 square meter covered structure. The fair will host local artisans and commercial stands offering gifts, ceramics, and handmade goods, alongside a food area featuring local street food. Additionally, the site will include a large amusement park with attractions such as a Ferris wheel, an ice rink, and various rides.
