Christmas light displays scheduled for London and Spanish cities in 2026
Major European cities are preparing for their 2026 Christmas light displays. In London, Carnaby Street is scheduled to illuminate its decorations on November 4, featuring a 1990s nostalgia theme. Regent Street is expected to follow on November 5. While the West End and Oxford Street have not yet confirmed exact dates, they are anticipated to begin lighting in early November. Oxford Street will feature a Harry Potter theme and benefit from new pedestrianization between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street.
In Spain, Málaga has confirmed November 27, 2026, as the date for its holiday lighting inauguration, centered around Calle Larios. Other major cities including Madrid, Vigo, Barcelona, Sevilla, and Zaragoza are currently preparing their displays. Madrid plans to use over 14 million LED bulbs, including a large tree in Plaza de Cibeles, while Vigo will deploy more than 12 million LEDs for its Porta do Sol display.
