Christmas markets in Holzminden and Soest scheduled for late 2026
Two German cities, Holzminden and Soest, have announced details for their upcoming 2026 Christmas markets.
In Holzminden, Lower Saxony, the market is scheduled to run for six weeks from November 23, 2026, until January 3, 2027. The event will feature traditional wooden stalls, a large natural ice rink for skating and curling, and a winter forest setting. The market will remain closed only on Christmas Eve, the two Christmas holidays, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
In Soest, North Rhine-Westphalia, the market will take place from November 23, 2026, to December 22, 2026. Approximately 100 stalls will be located across the Marktplatz, Petrikirchhof, Domplatz, and Vreithof. The event includes musical performances and guided tours of the old town. Gastronomy stalls are permitted to remain open until 10:00 PM daily.
