Denmark holiday traditions and seasonal celebrations

Various holiday traditions and seasonal events are being prepared across Denmark. SPAR is celebrating its tenth anniversary of providing free Christmas bus transport, with 43 routes and over 140 stops scheduled for December 22 to help citizens travel home to families.

In Odense, the annual lighting of the large Christmas tree at Flakhaven is set for November 14, featuring musical performances and a parade. Copenhagen offers numerous seasonal attractions, including the extensive Christmas markets at Gammeltorv, Rådhuspladsen, and Højbro Plads, as well as the holiday transformation of Tivoli Gardens.

Other local highlights include the elaborate decorations at the Centralhjørnet bar in Copenhagen, which invests approximately 100,000 DKK in annual ornaments, and seasonal festivities at Bakken in Klampenborg.
