France's Christo Popov claimed his first BWF World Tour Super 750 title by defeating Japan's Koki Watanabe in the Japan Open men's singles final in Tokyo. Popov secured the victory in straight games, 21‑11 and 21‑19, after earlier beating fellow Japanese Kodai Naraoka in the semifinals and upsetting world No. 1 Shi Yu Qi in the quarterfinals. The win marks the second French player to ever win the Japan Open, following Alex Lanier, and represents Popov's second biggest career title and third tournament win of the season, adding to his European championship and Super 300 victory in Mülheim.

The Japan Open is part of the BWF World Tour Super 750 series, attracting top international competitors and offering significant ranking points and prize money.
