Christoph Kramer seeks to withdraw from public life

Former football world champion Christoph Kramer has expressed his desire to withdraw from public life, describing the constant attention and external validation as ‘very toxic’ and ‘addictive.’

Speaking on the talk show ‘3nach9’ with moderator Giovanni di Lorenzo, the 35-year-old former player discussed the psychological challenges of living in the spotlight. Kramer noted that while the applause and external evaluation are enjoyable, they create a dependency on outside approval. He cited television personalities Thomas Gottschalk and Stefan Raab as examples of people who have attempted to find a more peaceful existence away from the limelight.

Kramer stated his intention to eventually distance himself from the public eye to achieve a sense of quiet peace, noting that he must ‘unlearn’ the need for constant validation that has been part of his life since childhood.
