Christoph Kramer to release second novel after 1,000 days of writing

Former football world champion and commentator Christoph Kramer has revealed that he has spent a total of 1,000 days writing novels. He began his literary pursuits during his final months with Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Kramer’s debut novel, ‘Das Leben fing im Sommer an’, was released in 2025 and has sold over 100,000 copies. The work has already been adapted for the theater, with a film adaptation currently in development. Kramer noted that the positive reception to his debut, including handwritten letters from young readers, motivated him to continue writing.

His second novel, titled ‘Wolkenberührpunkt’, is scheduled for publication on October 1. Kramer stated that while his first manuscript took approximately 500 days to complete, his second book also required about 500 days and involved more intentional literary planning.
