Christoph Kramer values Pokémon collection at 400,000 euros
Former German national football player and 2014 World Cup winner Christoph Kramer has revealed that his extensive Pokémon card collection is valued at approximately 400,000 euros.
Kramer, who previously played for Borussia Mönchengladbach, has been collecting the cards since 1999 and possesses a complete English first edition set. He views the collection not merely as a hobby driven by nostalgia, but as a legitimate financial asset and a form of modern art. He expressed that he has no intention of selling the collection, stating, “I would not give up my collection for all the gold in the world.”
Kramer suggested that his generation may eventually favor framing rare collectible items, such as vintage cards or retro jerseys, over displaying classical paintings. In addition to Pokémon cards, his interest in collecting extends to other vintage items, including an original, sealed first-generation iPhone.
