Christoph Schlingensief exhibition opens at Berlin's Gropius Bau

A major exhibition dedicated to the provocative media art and political interventions of Christoph Schlingensief (1960–2010) has opened at the Gropius Bau in Berlin. Titled ‘Es ist nicht mehr mein Problem, macht eure Scheiße alleine’, the showcase features works such as ‘Church of Fear’ and provides a retrospective of his actions from 1998 to the early 2000s.

Schlingensief’s widow and estate manager, Aino Laberenz, emphasizes that the artist was characterized by his stance, responsibility, and humor. She notes that attempting to predict how he would react to modern controversies is speculative, as Schlingensief himself maintained there was no single truth. The exhibition aims to present his work as a method of intervention and a way to expose contradictions rather than to provide easy answers or comfort the audience.
