Christopher Abbott discusses X-Men reboot and Professor X role

Actor Christopher Abbott, cast as Charles Xavier/Professor X for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe X-Men reboot, has provided updates on his involvement and the film's development. Abbott confirmed he has not yet read a script for the project, which is set to serve as the inaugural title for Phase 7 of the MCU with a scheduled theatrical release on May 5, 2028.

The production is currently undergoing a high-profile rewriting process. While Michael Lesslie authored the initial draft, the final script is being handled by Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo. Abbott expressed enthusiasm for working under director Jake Schreier.

In recent interviews, Abbott also discussed his unconventional preparation for the role. He shared anecdotes regarding his interest in consciousness and remote viewing, jokingly attributing his experiences to crystals during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
