Christopher Abbott reveals he has not read X-Men script

Actor Christopher Abbott has revealed that he has not yet read the script for the upcoming Marvel Studios X-Men reboot, despite being cast in the pivotal role of Professor Charles Xavier. Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Abbott confirmed he has not received any reading material for the project.

Abbott expressed significant enthusiasm for the production, citing his desire to work with director Jake Schreier and his excitement regarding the ensemble cast. He noted that his audition process involved Zoom sessions and costume screentests, describing the audition scenes as “very human” in nature.

The film, directed by Schreier with a screenplay by Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo, features a cast including Adam Driver, Sadie Sink, Kit Connor, and Maya Boyd. The reboot is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 5, 2028.
